And so my fearsome November has come to an end. It began with the marathon, which seems like it was about a year ago now, and featured travel on four of the five weekends during the month. The day after we returned from New York, I headed to Richmond, Virginia, for the AMIA Conference and a chance to hang out with Scott.
The next week, we all headed to Boston for Lucy’s christening and to celebrate her first birthday, slightly late.
During the following week, I drove up to Storrs to see Elvis Costello, who put on a great show, as always.
The next weekend, I headed to Montreal to sit on the jury of the Sommets du cinema d’animation, an animation film festival.

I’d been invited while I was still working in Los Angeles, and I arranged to introduce a slate of films I’d worked on, as well. It was a great experience. I enjoyed being on the jury, seeing the films, and also spending time in Montreal, one of my favorite cities. It was cold and snowy, so I didn’t do much besides these three activities: 1) watch movies, 2) read New Yorkers, and 3) drink chai lattes. Not a terrible way to spend a few days, but next time, we’ll go as a family and pick a more family-friendly month. I also got to stop at Auto Photo Canada to check out their shop and meet the legends of the Canadian photobooth, the Grosterns. It was a real pleasure.
Now all that sits between us and a hopefully un-busy 2014 is our trip to Alaska in three weeks, which should be a lot of fun.
