House: Days 5 and 6

March 8th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Busy busy busy. I’ve still got primer on my hands as I type this, and we’re about to head out the door, back to the house to apply our first coat of real paint. Last night we primed the living room, after spending all day cleaning the walls, removing the crown molding, taping up the trim, and so on. It’s all beginning to run together now, but we had a productive Saturday, starting at 8 am, going to around 6, when we headed to Home Depot for our paint (thanks for the gift card, Scott and Sarah!) and then out for dinner with friends, then back to the house at 9:30 to prime until past midnight. Losing an hour to DST wasn’t great, but we’re out the door now, having watched lots of (conflicting) YouTube clips on painting, ready to give it a go.

In other news, our bathroom guys are doing a great job and making some good progress:

Congrats on the new digs! We’re excited for you guys – good luck with the rest of the work. I think you define “sweat equity” right about now and it’s impressive.
