Amherst day

November 1st, 2015 · No Comments

One of the best things about being back on the east coast is the ease with which we can get back to Amherst, less than 90 minutes away. We had planned to go into New York City for the day, but once we realized what else was going on that day, rather than brave the marathon day crowds in New York, we decided to spend our post-Halloween Sunday in the Pioneer Valley, taking the familiar campus and food tour of Amherst and throwing in a trip to a new destination, the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

After breakfast at the Black Sheep, the girls enjoyed running around campus, visiting the mammoth skeletons in the Beneski Museumn, and running down Memorial Hill, or at least as much of it as they could before the access road for new dorm construction cut across it. Lunch at Antonio’s, then a really nice visit at the museum, and ice cream at Bart’s (which is now no longer Bart’s) and back home by dinner.
