After a few years of growing interest in the history and technology of the little mechanical wonder known as the photobooth, I started a website about them in 2003, and by 2005, with the help of Tim, it had become Photobooth.net, the best resource for all things photobooth on the web. Along the way, I added massive amounts of information to the site, met a lot of great people who shared my interest, and searched the world for photobooths whenever I traveled.
When Aimee and I visited San Francisco in February, 2008, I took the opportunity to check out some booths in this photobooth-friendly town, including a black and white machine at Wasteland, which, like many listed on our site, is sadly now gone. This photo is one of thousands I have from booths around the world (and the one in the garage), stored in binders, boxes, and picture frames around the house. This look back wouldn’t be complete without one.
