40 Days until 40: Day 6, 1980

1980

Halloween 1980, standing in front of the fireplace in our house downtown, dressed as the Lone Ranger, of course. By the next Halloween, we will have moved to the Hillside, and our days of neighborhood trick-or-treating would be over.

This photo looks like a Polaroid but is actually taken with one of Kodak’s instant cameras, perhaps an EK6. This pictorial trip down memory lane is also an interesting look at the history of consumer film formats, with each year represented by a different long-gone format. None of this would have been possible without the recent receipt of a trove of photos from my parents. My mom painstaking put together a few volumes of photo albums of me growing up, which are providing both the images and the dates for all of these early years.
