NoHo #3

January 5th, 2008 · No Comments

So there’s NoHo in New York (thought it’s a bit of a pretender and was apparently invented in the late ’80s by a “cabal of real estate developers,” according to Wikipedia), and then there’s the Noho I know, lovely Northampton, Massachusetts – and now there’s our local NoHo, North Hollywood. We took another Walking L.A. tour today, on a bit of a grey, overcast morning, along Lankershim Boulevard. We looked at the statues outside the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences, and looked at the offerings of the various live theater venues around. We noted that the “international headquarters for paint-your-own-pottery chain Color Me Mine” noted in the guide seem to have since been replaced by the “Xtreme Martial Arts World Headquarters” (no kidding). We had some hot chocolate from Indie Coffee, gave some French girls directions to Universal Studios, and made plans to come back for pizza at Pitfire Pizza next time.
