GTD weekend

Icehotel: More exiting than last year!It was a big weekend on Wilcox, the moment when everything finally came together, and, two weeks after actually moving, we finally feel moved in. On Friday night, I concluded the sale of my snow tires, even more unnecessary here than they were in Rochester, to someone who answered an ad on Craigslist, so that cleared up some space in my office and on my mind that had been occupied for too long. We spent all morning Saturday getting the garage organized, putting up the last few items on the walls, and picking up and dropping off stuff we needed (or needed to get rid of) in preparation for a visit from Michael and Ali that evening. Aimee got us a little tree at Anawalt and we decorated it in the afternoon, and it looks pretty great. While we were decorating, the area supervisor from Time Warner came and got us all squared away in the cable and internet department, notching one vote in the “competent” column for them. But just one. Our dinner was a success, with some delicious Spaghetti Estate , and chocolate fondue that turned into a bit of a race against time since we had no Sterno and Pavilions didn’t carry it.

On Sunday, we took my old iMac to Glendale to the hazardous waste recycling drop-off, which was rather more elaborate that I’d expected, guys in hazmat suits and lots of warning signs and all, but it was good to get that out of the trunk of the car. We got the final piece in the kitchen puzzle, a cart to bridge the gab between stove and countertop, at IKEA in Burbank, and enjoyed browsing their ever-changing selection – fabric by the foot? child-pods? We also noticed the ad for the ‘exiting’ Icehotel, seen above.
