About time

So I grew up a little today. I finally got a suit – or should I say, Aimee got me a suit, as she tries to class me up a little bit – my first real, honest-to-goodness black suit. The fact that I now have a suit makes me feel like an actual old person, but the fact that I never had one before cements my status as a late-bloomer, so I guess it doesn’t change things that much. Last night, Aimee and I had a delicious pizza at Di Mio, part of our resolution to try new restaurants (made somewhat more difficult last night by the fact that we needed it to be not only new but also open for dinner past ten p.m.) and watched the rest of The Devil’s Own, probably the least interesting movie Gordon Willis ever shot. This morning, we headed to Miltons (“The Store for Men!”), fairly deserted at ten a.m., where we got a nice, three-button black suit for the upcoming weddings, parties, and other Life Events I hope to be invited to in the next twenty years. Or so.

Our trip to the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline was sadly cancelled because the museum wasn’t open, but we got a great view of Boston from the surrounding park, and took a walk around Jamaica Pond, as the ice melted away from the banks, and wondered about Pinebank, beautiful but boarded up.
