It had been almost a month since I’d done a Connecticut race, with most of that time spent recovering from the Leatherman’s Loop and a very busy April of travel. As our weekends get busier, I’ve been picking off nearby town, so my time away from home is minimized. Prospect was only 20 minutes away, and I was happy to get back on track. It was a tough course, with some good hills, but I’d been running during the weeks I’d been off racing, and felt like I was able to keep up a pretty decent pace. I managed to come in second in my age group, and, perhaps since it was the first running of this race, they gave away trophies, rather than medals (or nothing). It was pretty funny to bring home a trophy to the girls.
