I decided to hook my first race in Fairfield County into a trip to do some research at the library in Greenwich. It was a three mile race, a tenth of a mile shorter than a 5K, but similar enough that I felt pretty impressed by my time, until I realized it wasn’t the full 5K. The course was interesting, a sort of loop that had us run over most of the course twice, with a little tail at the beginning and end. It seemed like a popular event for locals, with lots of high school kids running. I managed third in my age group and was awarded a chocolate bunny – just what I needed…
