March of 2000, somewhere on Oxford Street in London. I always hear the Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” in my head when I see this photo, and Brent’s matching shot. This trip was one of five I took to the UK, once a year between 1999 and 2003, when flights were cheap, vacation days plentiful, and responsibilities non-existent. We crammed a lot in a week that year, and despite ending the trip by getting backed into just as we’d returned the rental car, it was a great trip.
