Was it just a week ago that we looked at the condo again, pretty certain we were going to make an offer for it? Yes, it was – and the next day, Sunday, we went for a hike in Glendale, went back and forth again over who liked what and why, and generally felt like we were never going to agree on anything. We browsed the Glendale Postcard Show for some cheap L.A. postcards and the occasional photobooth photo (and while we’re on the subject, how much longer are shows like that going to survive? I felt like the youngest person there by a mile. Besides Aimee, of course).

After the postcard show, we headed to some open houses in West L.A. that afternoon, and, after skipping a few that didn’t look so great, we turned down a quiet street and found a house that we actually liked. And the more we looked at it, the more we liked it. That afternoon, we called our realtor to have her meet us there, that evening we made an offer, that Wednesday we received a counter-offer, and by Thursday, we’d accepted the counter-offer. It’s been a whirlwind of numbers, questions, and general, low-level, can’t sleep/can’t eat stress since then. We had our inspection today, and without any other major issues, we hope to close at some point next month. Wow. I’m not going to get much more into it at this point to keep my promise to myself to not count any chickens, but we’re crossing our fingers.



Before our inspection, we took a Walking L.A. tour of the UCLA campus, hitting some spots we were familiar with (Royce Hall, the sculpture garden) and some we weren’t (the botanical garden). We had hoped to make a return trip to Juju’s Cereal Bar, but apparently, we didn’t go often enough, as it was closed and men were carting away the contents when we showed up. We had a tasty breakfast at Jerry’s Famous Deli instead.
