It’s been awhile since we had a good comeback at our weekly pub trivia night – last week, we didn’t go because of a previous engagement, the week before we bombed out and didn’t manage a successful double-or-nothing all night. The week before, I think, we won, thanks to a Sinatra round which I helped us ace – but anyway, tonight was a good night, a come-from-behind victory with some daring double-downs and a win in the drinking round of Simon Says (during which I was called by our quizmaster Luc “The Greatest Male Simon Says Player on the Planet” – I think I’ll get that on a shirt). We were a team of eight tonight, larger than our usual six, which usually spells disaster, but we managed to under-think rather than over-think and come out on top. Even when we don’t win, it’s a great weekly tradition, mostly thanks to Luc’s pitch-perfect demeanor, even when the questions, which he doesn’t write anymore, are less than stellar.
