The boxes that ate Park Ave.

It’s been a weird week here so far, rising early and packing all day, then trying to do something we’ve either waited all year to do, or wanted to do one last time before we left. We’ve got a pretty good handle on the stuff in the apartment, except for all of those last items that won’t pack themselves, but that we’ve been ignoring so far, like the couch, the table, and lots of stuff in the attic. We’ve been re-visiting some of our favorite restaurants – one last meal at The King and I, Hogan’s (Ho’gans?) Hideaway, and Ming’s Noodles. We also finally hit the Vintage Drive-In for Superman Returns last night, and we’ve got a few more plans before we leave.

Our dining room is currently completely overrun with all of our boxes, and we’ll be finishing up today, heading to a wedding in Geneva tonight, and leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow morning to look for an apartment. Now that we’ve seen Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (with special guests George Hamilton and Mike Tyson and a plot revolving around art smuggling from the former Yugoslavia), I think we’ve really got a handle on LA, and we’ll feel at home there. But before then, there’s still more packing to be done.
