Summer moves in

It’s already/finally June, and our year in Rochester is swiftly coming to a close. Last week, I returned from my last trip of the year for school, an exciting week in Dayton, Ohio – maybe an overstatement – visiting the Library of Congress film facilities as well as the National Museum of the United States Air Force (my pictures here) and Young’s Jersey Dairy Farm, known for its ice cream – my first experience with a the ‘shake with floating dip’ – (as seen in Road Food) and its mini golf, Udders & Putters.

We’re just emerging from a string of days in the mid-90s, which seemed to come out of nowhere and immediately reminded me of moving, that yearly tradition we’ll be gearing up for yet again next month. Still no word on the job front, though I’ve had some interviews. We’ve taken the opportunity to escape the heat and see some of the summer’s big movies; when we were settling in for Mission: Impossible 3, a man came in, sat down in the front row, and put on the Yankees game on a portable radio. Amazing.

My final project for school is due in a week, and the rest of June is a blur: Aimee’s aunt and uncle will be here this weekend, then her mom and brother and his family two weeks after that, and then my parents the week after that, for graduation. Everything will get done, as it always does, but it’s going to be a busy three weeks between now and then.
