Fall is falling

Prospect ParkIt’s been a busy few weeks around here, and before I get too far into school, I thought I’d put some thoughts down. I got in last night from a weekend in NYC for George’s bachelor party, which was a good time. I also got to spend a nice afternoon in Prospect Park with Michael and Ali on Saturday, and ran into them again on Houston on Sunday as I was heading back to the airport. Ah, only in New York.

We’re enjoying Rochester, as much as we can for the amount of time we seem to be here. We’ve had a few “date nights” to Sinbad’s, Cibon, Plum House, and some other restaurants, but every time we go somewhere, we seem to add another destination to the list. We’re having people from school over for wine and cheese this week, which will be the first time anyone but our landlord and the cable guy has been inside the apartment. Should be fun.

School has been great so far, with immediate hands-on training in a lot of stuff I’d heard of and had a vague idea about but had never done myself. It’s keeping me busy, certainly, between classes and lectures and the field trips coming up. Before the year is over, we will have been to Pittsburgh, Dayton, Austin, New York, Washington, D.C., and (hopefully) Columbia, S.C. I’m really happy to be doing this, and Aimee’s even happier that I’m happy, because it makes moving up here a whole lot more worthwhile.
