Another last minute decision: I registered for the race at 6:55 a.m., and then drove up to Thomaston. Somehow, they already had a labeled manila envelope with my shirt, bib, and everything in it. It was a beautiful fall day, crisp and cold, and the small size of the race (44 runners) made my third place finish overall (second male) plausible.
