I’ve never been one for blow-out New Year’s Eve celebrations, but deciding to run a 5K on New Year’s Day confirmed the fact that the days of staying up all night were long gone. It was a surprisingly mild morning, and I ran in shorts and t-shirt, which was a little depressing, but made for a pleasant race. It was a pretty big event, with a a nice, flat course and tasty chili and cornbread at the finish. I put in a pretty decent time, considering I was carrying around a few weeks of holiday eating with me.

This will be my first full year in the club, so I’m curious to see how many races I’ll get to in 2016, especially since I’ve tackled a lot of the low-hanging local fruit to get to this point.
