Cereal City, U.S.A.! What more needs to be said? A perfect roadside attraction: education, nostalgia, strangeness, and snacks. Sadly, it seems to be closed now, which is a true loss for road trippers and cereal fanatics around the country.

My first trip to Michigan involved a quick stop in Detroit to see a Tigers game at the new Comerica Park during our first baseball road trip in the summer of 2001. We didn’t spend much time before or after the game there, but had to head on to Toronto to catch our Blue Jays game. During our second road trip of 2006, we returned, and finally saw a little more of the state, including Ann Arbor and Cereal City.
