I was looking at the Seattle Times online to read their take on the Yankees’ comeback victory over the Mariners yesterday, and was faced with a name from the past: Manresa Castle, in Port Townsend, Washington. My memory of the place is vague, and is wrapped up with memories of an abandoned fort nearby, but we stayed there more than twenty years ago, and I recall thinking it was very cool. According to the article, it goes up for auction tomorrow, and much of the story concentrates on its reputation for ghosts. I don’t remember that about the place, and just the word “Manresa” is enough to bring back vague memories of that summer.
