Where have I been since <a title=\"MBTA - Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mbta.com\/contact_us\/fares.asp\">January 3, 2004<\/A>? Answer: not on the T.<BR><BR>2) Dan was right: some Red Line trains now have stickers on all the door windows that say &#8220;These doors do not recycle.&#8221; Even if we assume they mean something about the doors not opening again once they&#8217;ve started closing, isn&#8217;t there a better way to get that point across?<BR><BR>3) The new <A HREF=\"http:\/\/members.aol.com\/grisolan\/type8\/type8.html\">Breda Type 8<\/A> cars on the Green Line (aka &#8220;The T of the Future&#8221;) are finally running on the C Line up Beacon Street.  <A HREF=\"http:\/\/cleanairbus.tripod.com\/ctp\/id83.html\">This page<\/A> features the somewhat updated story on these cars and why it&#8217;s taken seven years since they were built for them to be implemented successfully in Boston.  Under the &#8220;Chronology of Type 8 Events&#8221; on <A HREF=\"http:\/\/members.aol.com\/rtspcc\/roster\/MBTAroster.html\">this page<\/A>, the author notes: &#8220;December 11, 2003: Revenue operation of Type 8s on Beacon  St. resumed for first time since July 2000.&#8221;<BR><BR>So, in the almost four years I&#8217;ve lived here, the price of the T has gone from 85? to $1.25, and the trains that were three years old and barely running are now seven years old and still sort of barely running.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three things Aimee and I learned about the T tonight:1) It now costs $1.25.
