{"id":578,"date":"2008-06-05T08:27:32","date_gmt":"2008-06-05T15:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/?p=578"},"modified":"2008-06-07T08:03:05","modified_gmt":"2008-06-07T15:03:05","slug":"50_states_nevada_29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2008\/06\/05\/50_states_nevada_29.html","title":{"rendered":"50 States: Nevada (29)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/btmeacham\/2546835711\/\" title=\"50 States: Nevada by btmeacham, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3187\/2546835711_4cf3d3dfce.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" alt=\"50 States: Nevada\" \/><\/a><BR><BR>Nevada has the honor of being the only state whose photo I took during the course of the project itself; I had a photo of one of the indoor canals at the Venetian from our trip last year, but on our <a title=\"Love in LV, take two\" href=\"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2008\/05\/19\/love_in_lv_take_two.html\">weekend in Las Vegas last month<\/A>, my trip to the Neon Museum&#8217;s boneyard was a photographer&#8217;s paradise (not that I&#8217;m a photographer).  The gravel lot was filled with signs three or four deep, stacked up against one another, random letters strewn about, and fantastic, poetic juxtapositions all around.  <\/p>\n<p>That trip was my fourth trip to Nevada, I think, the last three to Las Vegas in 1997 on our road trip, and 2007 and 2008 now that we&#8217;ve moved to Los Angeles.  My first was a family trip to Reno and Carson City, sometime in the early &#8217;80s, of which I recall some vague casino memories, Harrah&#8217;s Auto Museum, and a meal at <A HREF=\"http:\/\/zephyr.unr.edu\/zephyr\/04_spring_pages\/story1\/rejfek_basque.html\">Louis&#8217; Basque Corner<\/A>, still the only Basque restaurant I&#8217;ve ever been to.  I took a lot of pictures (with my little <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/110_film\">110 cartridge camera<\/A>) of cars in the Harrah&#8217;s collection, Ferraris and Porsches and Bugatti Royales, and Herbie, of course.
