After seeing a number of “Run 169 Towns<\/A>” shirts at Mt. Washington, I checked up on the group and thought it would be a fun thing to do. This race on the fourth of July was the first one nearby in a town I’d never run before, so we all headed over to Milford to give it a go. Grace and Lucy ran the very informal “fun run” afterward, which they couldn’t stop talking about beforehand and have now referred to many times afterward. Lucy ran on her own, then I grabbed her hand, and when I let go again, she took a tumble, so that’s now the abiding memory, of course… Grace came in third, after two speedy older kids. <\/p>\n

The race was good, a mostly flat course, with nice weather, and good crowd support. I felt pretty good, ran hard, and came in just under 22:00, which felt pretty fast. I dutifully filled out my 169 Towns form online to register my race afterwards, and checked off race number 4. Only 165 left… <\/p>\n
