We took another biggie off the list this weekend when we saw Rob Little<\/a> at The Comix Café<\/A>, over next to Beers of the World in a strip mall on Winton Road. <\/p>\n

The only time I’d been to a comedy club was ten years ago at a little place in Leicester Square in London. I remember a lot of making fun of the audience, a lot of stuff I only understood because I’d read the paper that morning, and some audience member being repeatedly called “Milky Bar Kid<\/a>.” Needless to say, last night was a little different. <\/p>\n

We got in a little early, and got a decent seat in the strangely large room – which soon filled up, completely, to the gills. We had some overpriced dinner and a bargain pitcher of Saranac as we waited for the show to start, and it finally got started with a couple of opening sets that, if nothing else, showed just how hard it is to be funny. Learning the lingo of the comedy world as we went, we were entertained by our “feature” next, Dan Kaufman<\/A> from Chicago. And he was funny. His jokes were funny, but so were his throwaways, and he had some good moments of improvisation. We laughed a little harder when Rob Little (our “headliner”) was up, but I liked Kaufman’s humor better. The evening was a lot of fun; not only did we get to enjoy the comedy, but we caught a look at the blindingly bright 24-hour Mykonos Cafe<\/a>, which we’ll have to hit sometime in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
