I chose it mostly because of the fence in the background, and its two-tone green <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.hooverfence.com\/slats\/alumslat.htm\">aluminum privacy slats<\/A>, as I&#8217;ve just learned they&#8217;re called. <\/p>\n<p>I only lived in the house downtown until age six, so I don&#8217;t remember a ton about it, but the look of that fence, the way the slats slapped back into place when you pulled on them, the sound they made when hit with a ball, those are things I remember clearly. I also remember walking to Family Market to buy Whatchamacallit bars, burying things in the backyard, jumping off the jungle gym we had back there, and playing at Eric Pavey&#8217;s house across the alley behind our house. It&#8217;s all a bit of a mish-mash at this point, and I&#8217;m just going to toss in what I can recall at the moment, for lack of anything better organized. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m flying by the seat of my pants with this project, as I didn&#8217;t come up with the idea to do it until yesterday, and it&#8217;s dawning on me I&#8217;ll need to do this every day for the next&#8230;38, apparently. I haven&#8217;t blogged regularly in years, so I&#8217;m a little out of practice.
