His title has always been obvious.&#8221;<BR><BR>Chris Snow of the <I>Boston Globe<\/I> opened <a title=\"Boston.com \/ Sports \/ Baseball \/ Red Sox \/ New York, New York\" href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/sports\/baseball\/redsox\/articles\/2005\/04\/06\/new_york_new_york\/\">his coverage<\/A> with this sentence: &#8220;The &#8220;C&#8221; stitched on Jason Varitek&#8217;s uniform and absent but implied on Derek Jeter&#8217;s stands for captain.  Yet in a matinee in the Bronx, under a cloudless sky and before the Yankees&#8217; largest-ever second-day crowd, the &#8220;C&#8221; signified clutch.&#8221;  It&#8217;s like when <I>Time<\/I> and <I>Newsweek<\/i> both use the same photo for their covers.
