My fourth annual Movie Week was a fairly balanced affair, between smaller and larger theaters, between ones I’d visited before and ones I hadn’t, and between the east and west sides of the city. I finally got around to a few of the Santa Monica theaters I’d never visited before, explored how the Arclight brand has expanded beyond Hollywood, and visited the grandaddy of Hollywood theaters, the Chinese. I managed to see three films I actually had on my list, and the rest of the movies I caught didn’t feature any real turkeys. It was a costly week, though, with the cheapest ticket at $8.00, and the average at around $11.50 (thanks, Arclight premium pricing and AMC 3D surcharge). The tide has turned in the digital onslaught, as well, with four of the films screened digitally, and the other three on 35mm film.<\/p>\n

As I planned my week, I had alternatives that I could have chosen along the way, and the list of remnants makes up a possible to-do list the next time around. 28 movies theaters down and still a number left to go.<\/p>\n
