{"id":269,"date":"2005-01-14T09:53:26","date_gmt":"2005-01-14T16:53:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/01\/14\/more_5.html"},"modified":"2005-01-14T09:53:26","modified_gmt":"2005-01-14T16:53:26","slug":"more_5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/01\/14\/more_5.html","title":{"rendered":"More 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I finally watched the &#8216;part two of two&#8217; cliffhanger finale that opens Series Two of &#8220;MI-5,&#8221; aka &#8220;<a title=\"BBC - Spooks - Homepage\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/drama\/spooks\/\">Spooks<\/a>.&#8221;  The resolution itself was a little hollow &#8211; there&#8217;s a bomb in the house, the protagonist&#8217;s girlfriend and her daughter are trapped inside&#8230;but the bomb doesn&#8217;t go off.  OK&#8230;  It&#8217;s interesting to note that the series is running here in the states on <a title=\"MI-5 - Homepage\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aetv.com\/mi5\/\">A&#038;E<\/a>, but the show itself is a full 59:00 long, so they must be edited to allow for commercials here.  In the UK, they&#8217;ve just finished <a title=\"BBC - Spooks - Episode Guide\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/drama\/spooks\/episodeguide.shtml\">Series 3<\/a>, with a new one scheduled to start later this year. <a title=\"Doubleperf | Blog | Lost in Translation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2004\/11\/20\/lost_in_translation.html\">Like I said<\/a>, it&#8217;s not the best show around, but  it&#8217;s a lot of fun to watch.  The episodes feel more like mini-movies, with enough time for some interesting plot developments.  <\/p>\n<p>A few lessons I&#8217;ve learned from watching &#8220;MI-5&#8221;:<BR> 1. We are right to be suspicious of <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.carsurvey.org\/images\/ford_transit_1.jpg\">window-less panel vans<\/A>.<BR>2. All men from the Balkans have great hair.<BR>3. International terrorists prefer speaking in extended metaphors.<BR>4.
