After a memorable visit to the McSweeney&#8217;s Store in Brooklyn last summer, and an <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.doubleperf.com\/blog\/archives\/2004\/01\/25\/menhatten.html\">unsuccessful<\/A> visit in January when we found it boarded up,  I checked in on what&#8217;s going on at McSweeney&#8217;s West, <a title=\"Welcome to  the store at 826 Valencia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.826valencia.org\">826 Valencia<\/a>.  In addition to the writing center there, they boast a <a title=\"Welcome to  the store at 826 Valencia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.826valencia.org\/store\/\">pirate supply store<\/A> we hope to hit when we&#8217;re in town.  While checking this out, I came across news of their new space for tutoring and workshops, &#8220;<a title=\"Welcome to  the store at 826 Valencia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.826nyc.org\/\">826NYC<\/A>&#8221; (at 273 Fifth Ave. in Brooklyn, not 826, sadly), which, I&#8217;ve just learned, will soon feature the <a title=\"826NYC - BROOKLYN SUPERHERO SUPPLY CO.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.826nyc.org\/supply\/\">Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co.<\/a>, set to open this month.
