#25 Bridgeport 5/29/16

It’s only going to get more difficult to knock off races as I check off nearby towns, but for the time being, it’s nice to be able to find a race within a half hour of home. For #25, I thought I might try a 10K instead of the normal 5K, so I headed to Bridgeport to run through the university, along the water, and into the ballpark. It was a sizable race, with good crowds running both the 5K and 10K options. I felt pretty consistent, and managed a decent time, though I did get a little worn down by the end, when, through the design of the course, it felt like we were running over the same territory for a third time. The finish into the ballpark was fun, though perhaps not as spectacular as you’d hope, thanks to the giant PSEG coal-fired power plant in the background, which is apparently scheduled to be closed in a few years.
