I probably wouldn’t have ventured out this far, as Pasadena really isn’t Los Angeles, but I was curious to visit another Arclight Theater, and had done so last year out in Sherman Oaks. They do a good job exporting the Arclight ethos outside of Hollywood, though it doesn’t quite seem the same in a mall setting. Their trademark departure lounge lobby was there, though at 10:30 on a Sunday morning, it was pretty empty, so empty that there wasn’t even a person behind the counter to buy a ticket from. I bought one on my phone in the lobby and showed the attendant the barcode on the phone, which his machine wasn’t able to scan. No matter, there were only five people in the theater.

The movie was fine, an interesting story and fun for some of its French-ness, but pretty predictable and cliched. I liked Francois Cluzet in Tell No One, and he was good here. Omar Sy was fun to watch, as well. Good projection and sound, and a quiet and respectful audience, as usual.
