South Pas

Now that we’re home for awhile, we had a chance to venture out to explore another Los ANgeles “small town,” after our trips to Calabasas and Montrose. This time, it was another spot we’d previously visited, but one we hadn’t really explored: South Pasadena. It’s a beautiful spot, with lot of independent businesses, picturesque neighborhoods, and inviting parks. We had a great time wandering around and somehow managed to cram three “meals” into one morning. We stopped at Buster’s Cafe for breakfast, had a milkshake from the Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain as a snack, and then visited Mix & Munch for a custom grilled cheese sandwich for lunch; their cereal bar will have to wait until next time.

The sadly derelict, and only recently so, Rialto Theatre. Someone needs to refurbish this National Register-listed landmark.
