In my desire to see movies I actually want to see, I’ve made this week a little heavy on $12 multiplex movies, which is too bad. Another night, another Pacific Theater – oh well. I think I’ve only been here once before, for I can’t remember what. It’s an OK place to see a movie, I guess, and has a good location in downtown Culver City, across a plaza from the famous Culver Hotel and next to the Cold Stone Creamery, somewhere I’ve visited a little more often than the theater.

The film was fun; I felt like I wasn’t going to like it, but Edgar Wright is creative and funny enough to overcome my natural aversion to a video game-heavy movie, a subject which has pretty much no resonance for me. The few other people in the theater with me were enjoying it as well.
