Last day in NZ

We made the long-ish drive from Queenstown to Christchurch yesterday, passing through some varied and beautiful country, from snow-covered mountains to green pastures. We stopped in Tekapo for a look at this beautiful stone church with a stunning view (sadly, the majestic mountains are a bit blown-out by the iPhone camera). We also stopped in Geraldine for a look at the car and tractor museum there, plus the Giant Jersey of Geraldine and the must be seen to be believed 1066 mosaic. It doesn’t really help to explain it as a recreation of the Bayeux Tapestry made out of two million bits of spring steel from industrial weaving pattern discs, but that’s what it is. True roadside Kiwi.

We’re now in the Auckland airport, enjoying Monday for the first (of two) times. Who knows the next time we’ll have the pleasure of the airport lounge?
