Roman Holiday

We had an exceptionally full day today, from the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and Trajan’s Column in the morning (all before 9 a.m.), mid-day wandering the Forum, the Colosseum, and Palatine, to the Villa Borghese in the afternoon, where we snapped this photo and enjoyed the relative tranquility of the park.

It’s been a terrific visit so far, with square after square of stunning architecture, great food at every meal, gelato twice a day, and beautiful weather. Tomorrow, we’ll brave the Vatican, check out Trastavere, and get ready to head to Florence on Tuesday.
