A month

It’s been that long since we moved, officially, and it’s funny how quickly you get used to a new place. I haven’t been past our old apartment once, aside from the time I met our landlady to pass off the old keys. We had a nice weekend here, and it was nice to be in town for it.

On Saturday, I had some semi-successful holiday shopping in Silver Lake and Los Feliz, and we enjoyed Juno in the afternoon. This morning, I ran the “Say No to Drugs 5k” in Griffith Park, which very well may have had some sort of subtle Scientology connection that I did not discern until it was too late, but oh well, drugs are bad, so at least I agree in principle. The race felt pretty good, not my fastest, but a satisfying way to spend the morning. I caught The Golden Compass (too much plot, not enough fun) and Control (excellent all around, wow) in the afternoon.

We also walked to Larchmont for Sunday market and I snapped a few photos of Paramount’s winter offerings as seen on the Melrose wall of the studio. I’ll try to stop by every few weeks to see what’s new – it’ll be interesting to see what stands the test of time. “The Insider’ with Pat O’Brien? Who knows?
