Things are beginning to get back to normal. I finally got my boot off two weeks ago, and am enjoying walking around again, unimpeded. I’ve begun walking and taking the bus to work again, just in time for the super-hot weather, but it feels good, and it’s reassuring to see the same gentleman with the plaid blazer, the thick glasses, and the multiple copies of the Hollywood Independent he uses as a barrier between himself and his seat on the bus, staring down Cole Street like he’s looking for someone he knows, every time.



An IKEA bedroom rolled past me last night as I waited for Michael to pick me up on our way to see B.B. King at the Hollywood Bowl last night. It was a great show, though B.B. played for less than an hour of the three-plus hour concert. Oh well.

We had a rough night at trivia on Tuesday, after two weeks of second-place finishes. We gambled on our knowledge of Will Ferrell characters, and mistakenly chose “Mugatu” as his Austin Powers 2 role, rather than his character in Zoolander. Oh well. We’ll be back next week and we’ll give it another go. We did manage to ace the picture round last week, “Identify each of these famous Brians,” which made me feel good. I was surprised they could even come up with ten Brians, and without using Brian Wilson, too.
