Finding the one that fits

I picked up Aimee’s car from the local VW specialist this morning, after a raft of repairs we had done over the past two days. After her car’s dashboard readout shouted “ALTERNATOR WORKSHOP!” at her last week, I found the shop on Car Talk, and it’s just a few miles from our house. For some previous work last month, we had used another VW place in Burbank, but it was just too far away. Nice guy, but a little too low-key for my taste: no credit cards, erratic hours, etc. Just like when we moved here and I needed a haircut, it took a little bit to find the right place. I first went to a woman a colleague recommended, down on 3rd. She was nice and friendly, but just too far away. I’m not overjoyed at going to SuperCuts, but sadly, it makes a difference how long it takes me to get there, and I can get it done during lunch. As for the VW place, I can ride or run there in a matter of minutes to pick up the car, which is nice. The only thing I have against them is that they took off the nice Craig Autometrics license plate frame and replaced it with their own, as though they were tagging our car. The last vestiges of our time in Rochester, slowly fading away…
