The birthplace of the talkie

November 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

Some classmates and I visited the Case Museum in Auburn this past weekend. In addition to the quilt exhibit we hadn’t planned on, we were able to get into the lab in the back to see where Case and Sponable first perfected the ability to record sound on film, making talking pictures a practical possibility. Pretty cool, and also great to be there with an Academy Award-winning sound editor along on the trip.
