A matter of emphasis.

good_night.jpgAimee’s parents visited last weekend, our first official Rochester guests, and we enjoyed a full day of activities on Saturday, bookended by a nice dinner on Friday night and a diner breakfast on Sunday. After trips to Rochester’s two institutions, George Eastman House and Wegmans, we caught a screening of Good Night, and Good Luck. at the Little. Looking at the poster and seeing the credits (plus a few weeks of concentrating on cataloging) made me think about the first poster I saw for the film a few months ago. Why did the title get changed from Good Night. And, Good Luck. to the present, less punctuated incarnation? Or, more to the point, why did they give a film title two periods and a comma to begin with? I like the fact that they left the punctuation in the final title, because I feel like no one pays much attention to punctuation in films (besides things like Airplane!) – it gives the title more exactness. Anyway, I thought the film was excellent, regardless of its punctuation, a narrowly-focused, well-acted and very smart film.

Also, two years ago today I posted my first blog entry here. I’ve been slacking in the past few months, but I’ve also started two other blogs in the last year, and not that I’m keeping up very well with those, but it’s a juggling act. Anyway.
