The Rochester List

Aimee and I tackled a bunch of items on our big list of Things to Do in Rochester this long weekend. We started off with dinner Friday night at Sinbad’s on Park Ave., where I had a delicious “pitza” (pizza on a pita).

On Saturday, we had breakfast at Highland Park Diner, the last “Orleans” diner in America, just down the street from us. In the evening, we went to the Rochester Red Wings‘ last home game and enjoyed a Red Wings victory as well as a great fireworks display.

Jell-o Museum, LeRoy, NYOn Sunday, we took a stroll through the extensive Vietnam Veterans memorial and read the Sunday Times in Highland Park. And on Monday, we drove down to LeRoy, about a half hour away, home of the Jell-o Museum and Gallery, which celebrates the history of “America’s Most Famous Dessert.” We saw Jell-o advertising, recipes, commercials, molds, and anything else you could imagine, plus lots of coverage of Jell-o spokesman Bill Cosby’s 2004 visit to LeRoy. Lots of fun.
