Choices

We all make choices in our daily lives; today, I chose between witnessing a moment in the political history of our country, and watching a morning matinee. Yesterday at work, I got a call from the Kerry-Edwards campaign offering me tickets to a rally to greet Sen. Kerry at the Charlestown Navy Yard this morning. I accepted, and Aimee figured out how we’d get there (the T to the water taxi, across the harbor, which would have been interesting), but by this morning, the forecast had turned to a torrential downpour, so we decided against the rally and instead…went to a 10:30 am matinee of The Bourne Supremacy. Probably not the wisest choice, but it was fun to sneak a movie in in the middle of the day, and the idea of waiting three hours for a five minute speech wasn’t that appealing, as I’d already seen the man in person at a Sox game awhile back. The movie was a lot of fun, all handheld, all the time, but with an air of dirty realism that sets it apart from other more frivolous and implausible spy thrillers.
