Move Out

No, I’m not singing the biggest hit by Yaz (or Yazoo if you’re anywhere but in the U.S., I’m talking about what I’m going to do at the end of July. Yesterday morning, I was informed by my landlady that she’s no longer going to be renting the four rooms in the house, and her son and his family will be moving in. So, I headed right to Craigslist, and I’ve so far seen three rooms, two of which I’d be happy moving into. I’m going to see one more place tonight, but I think I’ll probably go with one of the two rooms in a house I looked at about a block from my current place.

The news wasn’t totally unexpected, as I’d never been on a lease, and was warned it could happen. Aside from the hassle of moving, too, it’s a happy event, I think, because it was going to be a tough year, living in an apartment with someone whose impossible personality had essentially forced the last three people who lived there to move out. I was going to stick it out, but I was probably going to hate many moments along the way, so I’m happy to move on and give somewhere else a try, somewhere with a bigger kitchen, on-site laundry, bike storage, and a quiet location. It’s starting to sound pretty nice.
