It’s That Time of Year Again

If it’s almost the summer solstice, it means the Mount Washington Road Race is on, and if the race is on, my dad is in town. He came in yesterday, and after taking a look at a possible place for me to move, we met Aimee and T’d to the North End for dinner. Temporarily stunned by the choices, we eventually settled on Lucia Ristorante, but let me be clear: it’s the one on Hanover Street in the North End, not the one in Winchester with the replica Sistine Chapel Ceiling and Animated Michelangelo adding the finishing touches as you dine. Ours had murals on every surface – wall, ceiling, mirror – but no animatronics. Another day…

Dinner was delicious, and we topped it off, naturally, with a treat from Mike’s Pastry. And it wouldn’t be a visit from Dad without my sleepless night lying in a sleeping bag on the floor of a non-air conditioned apartment, listening to Sigur R?s on the iPod. It’s a little tradition of mine.
