Tourism Begins at Home

Saturday was pretty much the nicest day of the year so far, and Aimee and I enjoyed it by visiting some local destinations we’d never been to, for whatever reason. We started off (after a Super Size Me-inspired healthy breakfast at 1369) with a drive on 2A to Lexington, where we visited the Battle Green, observed a busload of tourists led by a “Colonial Woman,” and got in the middle of the retired-lady mafia who run all of the gift shops.

After Lexington, we headed to Concord, accompanied by all of the same tourists we saw in Lexington, and we walked around the “rude bridge,” as the Park Service ranger informed passing canoeists that feeding the ducks was illegal, and the cyclists that riding your bike on the bridge was also illegal.
