The New Me

I completed a trifecta of renewals this week: a new passport, a new driver’s license at the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall RMV, and a new title for my car. The passport had traveled with me to Reykjavik, London, St. Petersburg, Ljubljana, Dubrovnik, and Prague, among other places, but it was finally time to say goodbye to the last vestige of my floppy hair days. My license had the unfortunate feature of using my SSN as my DL number, which happens unless you specifically request a different number. They’ve even got a poster up saying “ask for the S number,” their randomly generated number, to thwart identity theft. Why don’t they do it for you? Are people going to be particularly disappointed that they didn’t get their SSNs printed on their licenses?

Josh and I went biking in The Fells last evening, at the end of what was pretty much the hottest day of the year so far, but just before the torrential downpour began. It was my first time there, and provided some good training for the Muddy Buddy at the end of the month. Now I just have to get used to running in a bike helmet, which is apparently what you have to do.
