Sad to hear this news about Bob Edwards leaving “Morning Edition.” He’s been the voice of the show, and of days in the garage with Dad, road trips around the country, early wake-up calls in high school, and countless other unidentifiable moments of my life. Never had any idea what he looked like, but his voice was so familiar.

I drove around today listening to tapes of Mom and Dad, as well as Scott and I when we were young, and grandparents who are no longer with us, and I’m reminded of the power of a voice to bring back a moment in time. Sad to hear this voice that’s been with me all my life will be leaving.
