What do the Film Study Video Library, 507 Putnam, and Willie Nelson have to do with one another? Apparently Mikey Palmer and Andy Eggers…

So Mikey, who works in the library here now that Clint is finally off in Cuba, yells at me from across the room that his band is on the homepage of Garageband.com. So I say, “You’re in a band?” Followed by, “You mean the site that just signed a deal with Apple to let Apple use the name GarageBand for their new music software?” And he says yes. So I check it out, and after reloading a few times, up pops a photo of his band. I look at the picture, and there’s a tall guy in the picture who looks familiar, and I ask, who’s that? And Mikey says, “Andy.” And of course, it is Andy, who I last saw at the Austin Music Hall for the Willie Nelson/Lucinda Williams/Jayhawks concert at South by Southwest. Andy, good friends with my old roommate Tim, and who I’d seen at Josh Rouse shows in Boston in years past, now in a band with Mikey. Strange indeed.
